The allegations surfaced following a press conference convened by the Kano State Police to introduce the 24-year-old actress, who resides in Kano.
According to police reports, Amal is being brought to court for her purported attempt to bribe ASP Salisu Ujama, who was investigating a case involving her boyfriend. The case revolves around a fraud allegation, with Amal’s boyfriend allegedly absconding after receiving forty million naira from Alh. Yusuf Adamu under the guise of a phone business venture.
Upon receiving a petition from HIDG Chambers, alleging misappropriation of the forty million naira, Deputy Commissioner of Police, AIG Muhammad Sanda, initiated an investigation. The inquiry revealed that N13million naira had been transferred to Amal’s bank account. Subsequently, it was discovered that Amal is a Hausa actress in the Kannywood industry.
The Actress was summoned to the police station to account for the funds, where she admitted that the money was sent by her boyfriend. Despite being granted bail, Amal Umar attempted to halt the police investigation through legal means. However, upon her return to reclaim her car from police custody, she allegedly attempted to bribe ASP Salisu Ujama with five hundred thousand naira.
In adherence to official protocols, Ujama instructed the actress to return with a partial payment, leading to her arraignment on bribery charges. The police have affirmed their commitment to continue the investigation and ensure transparency in sharing information with the community.
