An undergraduate student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, (ATBU) Bauchi has developed an Android Application that calculates Zakat on money, grains and animals.
Muhammad Sageeer, who is from the Department of Management and Information Technology of the ATBU, achieved this feat after taking much time deliberating on the application’s design and implementation.
It is believed that the android application will go a long way in ensuring proper calculation and distribution of Zakat.
Islamic scholars and other Muslims have been having issues regarding the Zakat calculation, which generate comments and debates on the right thing to do.
With this android application, zakat related issues will be easy for the entire Muslim community.
As we all know, Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, which is compulsory for all Muslims who meet the necessary criteria of wealth to give out. Therefore, the importance of this application in Islam, can’t be overstated.
What this young and vibrant student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi requires is support for better utilization of the application.
