Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed today launched 2020 farming season and the OCP Africa COVID-19 Palliative Support Project to selected farmers across the state.
Speaking at the ceremony today held at BSADP Bauchi, the governor recalled that ,similar ceremony was performed just where the state government provided enough fertilizer to farmers, purchased chemicals against agricultural pests as well as supplementary measures provided to control Quela birds.
Governor Bala noted that implementation of the State Agricultural Policy has started yielding positive results in an efforts to boost agriculture in all it’s ramifications, revolutionize the sector among others.
According to him, a total of 5,000 farmers have been registered where each of them will receive 2 bags of NPK fertilizer at a subsidized rate under the OCP Africa COVID-19 palliative support.
Governor Bala Mohammed had also launched the distribution of 3 tricycles and 6 motorcycles to some selected farmers to assist them in conducting their farming activities.
The occasion has in attendance, Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela, Deputy Speaker, Dallami Kawule, Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, PDP State Party Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, Chief of Staff Dr Ladan Salihu, Honorable Commissioners and other top government officials.
