The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has released the flight schedule for the 2026 intending pilgrims, as preparations for the exercise intensify.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris made this known during a press conference held at his office, where he outlined key developments and updates regarding the forthcoming pilgrimage.
He explained that applicants whose names did not appear on the final list have two options, whether to defer their payments to the next Hajj exercise or formally request a refund from the board.
The Executive Secretary clarified that the situation was not caused by the board but resulted from a directive by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON, which reduced the number of Hajj slots allocated to Nigeria.
He noted that the reduction is part of a global adjustment affecting several countries, called on intending pilgrims to make efforts to check their names.
According to him, NAHCON’s initial allocation of ninety five thousand slots was cut by forty one thousand, a development that has prevented some intending pilgrims across the country from participating in this year’s Hajj.
He appealed for understanding from affected applicants.
Dr. Idris further announced that the distribution of uniforms and travel bags for successful pilgrims will commence on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
He disclosed that Bauchi State currently has about two thousand and eighty six registered pilgrims.
