Bauchi State has only 4 positive COVID-19 cases say Government

Bauchi State Government says the state has only 4 positive cases of coronavirus

According to the statement available to Hausa360 by S. A on New Media to Governor Bala, Mohammed, Bauchi State Government says the state has only 4 positive cases of coronavirus, not 8 as claimed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on its website.

The State Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela stated this while addressing journalists at the Government House Bauchi.

Senator Baba Tela said the State Task Force on COVID-19 has sent another 3 samples to the NCDC for test apart from the initial 3 index cases.

According to him, the result of 3-second cases has cleared because of gender and address issues, saying that before concluding the matter, NDDC posted on its website that Bauchi has 6 cases.

” We are not arguing on the capacity of the NCDC, but we have an issue of communication gap between us especially in terms of gender and address of the result sent to us on the second 3 samples.

” We have sent the result for reevaluation, but to our surprise, it was posted by the NDDC that all the 3 are positive.

On the additional 2 cases reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, the deputy governor said the result was for the first 3 index cases sent to the center for re-testing, not for a new case.

He said all the confirmed 4 cases in the state are under management. He then appealed for understanding between the government and the center for clarification on issues.

Senator Baba Tela used the forum to announce the donation of personal protection equipment to the state government by the International Relief Organization.
