EFCC Storm: 32 Yahoo Boys Convicted in One Day Across Ibadan and Osogbo – Luxury Cars, Millions Forfeited

The Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of 32 internet fraudsters before eight judges across Ibadan, Oyo State, and Osogbo, Osun State.

The convicted individuals, including Udoka Uzo Omefe, Adedara Ademola Ayobami, Ajayi Elijah Oladimeji, and 29 others, were prosecuted on various charges such as obtaining by false pretence, advance fee fraud, and possession of fraudulent documents. All pleaded guilty.

Sentences ranged from one month to two years imprisonment, with some given the option of fines or community service. Notably, Justice Uche Agomoh imposed jail terms without an option of fine on several offenders, while others were ordered to make restitution to their victims.

In addition to prison terms and fines, all recovered items — including luxury cars such as a 2013 Toyota Avalon, a Lexus ES 250, and a Lexus ES 330 — were forfeited to the federal government.

The convicts were apprehended following credible intelligence that exposed their cybercrime activities, leading to their prosecution by EFCC counsels before various courts in Oyo and Osun states.
