Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state on Thursday presented the sum of over 878 billion naira to the State House of Assembly as the state’s 2026 budget proposal.
Speaking at the presentation, the Governor noted that the state government has recorded over 79 percent performance in the implementation of the 2025 budget.
Governor Bala Mohammed explained that the 2026 budget estimate was developed to ensure completion of critical projects, implementation of pension scheme, compliance with debt repayment among others.
He promised to work assiduously towards achieving the desired result in the implementation of the 2026 budget inline with its themed “budget of consolidation and sustainability for the rapid development of the state.
The Governor then appreciated members of the State House of Assembly for their support and solidarity to his administration in the last 6 years and urged them to sustain it for more success and progress.
On his part, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman assured the governor of the readiness of the assembly to ensure timely passage of the budget to enable his administration to begin implementation immediately.
