Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed it’s readiness to overcome and address the challenges identified on population growth and human capital development.
Governor Bala Mohammed made this known when he participated at a virtual meeting with participants of the Course 42 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
The governor who interacted with the participants and management of the institute during the session, informed them that his administration is doing things collectively in order to achieve the desired objectives.
While thanking the institute for selecting Bauchi as one of the states for study tour, Governor Bala Mohammed gave assurance of his support to enable them excel in the assignment.
” NIPSS has remained a centre for excellence, over the years, it has impacted positively on improving human capital development in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Nigeria.”
On the Population Growth and Human Capital Development in Bauchi State, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa said the ministry is planning not only for a short-term, but a long-term to ensure proper coordination.
Dr. Gamawa said in 21 century, data is necessary and it is everything in proper economic planning and development.
On his part the Director General of the Institute, Professor Habu Galadima recalled that the institute was established in 1979 as a high- level center for reflection, research and learning, with the primary objective of serving as the nation’s foremost policy ‘think- tank’, developing a crop of top class technocrats of high intellectual capacity, conceptualise and anchor the implementation of innovative and dynamic policy initiatives and strategies critical for national development.
Professor Habu Galadima said the institute also conducts courses for top- level policy makers and policy administrators in addition other opportunities provided for participants to interact on crucial issues with scholars and policy makes both within and outside the Institute.
