Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially submitted his nomination form to the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 Kano governorship election.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor Yusuf was accompanied during the submission by prominent political figures from Kano State, including Ibrahim Shekarau, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senator Kawu Sumaila, members of the House of Representatives and other dignitaries.
Speaking to journalists shortly after submitting the form, the governor described his second-term bid as a renewed call to service and a commitment to continue delivering development projects across Kano State.
He said his administration plans to expand urban renewal projects, road construction, drainage systems and market modernisation across the state.
Governor Yusuf also stated that rural development would remain a key priority, with increased investment in feeder roads, water supply, healthcare centres and schools in rural communities.
He further pledged stronger support for agriculture and empowerment programmes for farmers and youths, stressing that job creation and youth development would continue to remain central to his administration’s agenda.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to improving education and healthcare delivery, while emphasising unity, peace and inclusive governance as major pillars of his leadership.
He also reiterated his support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying his administration would continue to collaborate with stakeholders to attract more federal projects and opportunities to Kano State.
Governor Yusuf thanked the people of Kano for their continued support and assured them of transparent governance and people-oriented development.
