French President Emmanuel Macron will host a video call with European leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen, to promote a coordinated approach to banning social media use for minors, his office said on Tuesday.
Among those expected to participate are Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, along with representatives from Italy, the Netherlands, and Ireland. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, with a full list of attendees to be confirmed later.
According to a presidential aide, the aim is to ensure a unified effort among EU member states and encourage the European Commission to move forward in step with national governments on the issue.
