The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has concluded accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj in both Makkah and Madinah, ahead of the deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed this in a statement made available to stakeholders, pilgrims and the general public. He confirmed that the accommodation details have been successfully uploaded and approved by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj.
According to the statement, the timely completion of the accommodation process aligns with the directive of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, GCON, who had instructed that all critical Hajj arrangements be finalised within the approved Saudi timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests.
Professor Usman expressed appreciation to the Vice President for his guidance and continuous support throughout the process. He also acknowledged the contributions of the high-level Nigerian delegation to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, the leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON staff, and other relevant stakeholders involved in the accommodation arrangements.
With the completion of this phase, Nigeria has secured its accommodation slots for the 2026 Hajj and is now among countries that have met this key requirement within the stipulated timeframe.
