The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has unveiled a seamless process for individuals to update their date of birth with ease. With just a few straightforward steps, Nigerians can now ensure that their information is accurate and up to date.
To initiate the process, individuals are required to verify their National Identification Number (NIN) and log in to the NIMC portal. Once logged in, they can navigate to their dashboard and select the date of birth modification option.
Next, users will securely complete the payment for the modification through the Paystack platform. After payment, they will input their NPC certificate number to validate it. This step automatically fills in the date of birth field, ensuring accuracy and preventing further edits.
For those who have misplaced their birth certificates, the option to perform a birth attestation online is available on the National Population Commission’s website.
Upon validation of the NPC certificate number, users will be prompted to upload their NPC certificate along with any required supporting documents. Once all documents are uploaded, users can submit their modification request and preview the adjustments before final submission.
Before submitting the request, users must ensure to check the attestation box to confirm the accuracy of the provided information. Once submitted, users will promptly receive a modification transaction slip on their dashboard.
Upon approval of the modification request, users will receive a notification, and their NIN slip will be dispatched to their email address. Additionally, users have the option to print the slip directly from their dashboard for convenience.
