The Joint Task Force Headquarters in the North-East, under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has issued a security warning over potential attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists during the upcoming Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
According to the military task force, intelligence reports suggest that the insurgent groups may target crowded public places across states in the North-East region during the festive period.
Areas likely to attract large gatherings, including markets, worship centres, recreational venues, and transport hubs, have been identified as possible targets.
The security outfit urged residents to remain alert and cautious throughout the celebrations, stressing the need for increased public vigilance.
Citizens were also encouraged to report any suspicious movement, abandoned objects, or unusual activities to security agencies without delay.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, noting that security personnel have intensified surveillance and operational measures across the region to prevent any attempted attacks by terrorist elements.
