The Plateau State Government has constituted a high-powered sub-committee to harmonise issues raised during the recent interaction with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang inaugurated the committee on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Twin Theatre, New Government House, Rayfield, Jos.
According to the government, the initiative aims to develop a coordinated framework for future engagements with the Presidency and other Federal Government institutions in the interest of Plateau State.
The committee is chaired by Joshua Chibi Dariye. Other members include Pauline Tallen, Sheikh Ghazali Ismail Adam, Bishop Jwan Zumbes, Hon. Sani Muazu, Rev. Gideon Para Mallam, Hon. Sani Suleiman Maigoro, Barrister Panmak Lere, Mrs. Esther Gonda, and Dr. Sumaya Hamza.
The government also appointed Dr. Julie Sanda and Dr. Joseph Lenmang to serve as the committee’s secretariat.
Governor Mutfwang directed the committee to harmonise concerns raised during the interaction with President Tinubu. He also tasked members with developing a comprehensive agenda for future engagements with the Presidency and relevant Federal Government agencies.
The committee will identify priority areas requiring Federal Government intervention and recommend measures aimed at promoting peace, unity, security, social cohesion, and sustainable development in Plateau State.
In addition, the committee will liaise with stakeholders to ensure inclusive consultations during its assignment. Members are expected to submit their report and recommendations within seven days.
The Plateau State Government expressed confidence in the experience and commitment of the committee members. Officials urged them to carry out the assignment diligently in the overall interest of the state.
Observers say the development reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Federal Government on security and development matters affecting Plateau State.
The inauguration of the sub-committee marks another step by the Plateau State Government toward improving dialogue, policy coordination, and collaboration with the Federal Government on key issues affecting the state.
