The Presidency has stated that Nigeria’s security situation is not deteriorating, despite concerns raised by citizens over recent attacks and kidnappings in parts of the country.
A presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, made the clarification while responding to public discussions about security challenges.
According to Bwala, the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu is actively working to address security threats through collaboration with international partners and improved intelligence operations.
He explained that the government has strengthened cooperation with foreign governments and global security agencies to tackle terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping across the country.
Bwala also highlighted ongoing military operations and security reforms aimed at restoring peace in affected communities.
However, security analysts say while progress has been made in some areas, more efforts are still needed to address the root causes of insecurity such as poverty, unemployment, and weak law enforcement systems.
