His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed today received customized mobile devices donated to the State Government by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
While receiving the devices at the Banquet Hall, Government House Bauchi also witnessed the launching of the UNESCO’s School Meet the Learner Approach Program.
Governor Bala Mohammed said the project is in line with his administration’s effort to digitalize teaching and learning process in Bauchi state.
He said the project is very important in providing basic literacy to the beneficiaries and declared committee to settle the outstanding financial contributions of the state.
Governot Bala used the opportunity to commend UBEC and SUBEB for their commitment to find lasting solutions to the out of school phenomenon in the country.
The Acting Director and Head of Education Sector, UNESCO Regional Office, Abuja Mr Lamine Sow said the donation of the customized mobile devices and launching of the Organisation’s School Meet the Learner Approach Program is to support the state government in tackling poor performance of pupils and students at basic education level.
Earlier, the Honorable Commissioner for Education in Bauchi State, Dr Aliyu Tilde said about fifty citizens of the state will benefit from the UNESCO’s School Meet the Learner Approach Program in 6 Local Government Areas of the state.
