Amb. Dr. Sameera Abubakar Abdullahi, through the Better Life for Women and Children Future Foundation (BLWCFF), has successfully partnered with Muslim Charity to support the rehabilitation of street children and out-of-school children in Kano State through the donation of a coaster bus worth ₦36 million.
The humanitarian intervention, which commenced in November 2025 and was completed in February 2026, was designed to strengthen ongoing efforts aimed at addressing the growing challenge of vulnerable children roaming the streets across Kano State.
Under the initiative, Muslim Charity provided funding support for the procurement of the coaster bus, while Better Life for Women and Children Future Foundation coordinated the implementation and delivery of the project in collaboration with the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation.
According to the foundation, the coaster bus will be used to transport rescued street children and out-of-school children from different parts of Kano State to designated rehabilitation and support centres where they can receive care, counseling, education, and other social support services.
The project was officially completed in February 2026, during which Amb. Dr. Sameera Abubakar Abdullahi formally handed over the coaster bus to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who subsequently presented it to the Commissioner for Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation for operational use.
Speaking on the initiative, supporters of the foundation described the intervention as a significant contribution toward child protection, social rehabilitation, and community development in Kano State.
They noted that the growing number of children living or roaming on the streets requires stronger collaboration between government institutions, development organizations, and humanitarian actors to provide sustainable solutions.
The project is expected to improve rescue operations, strengthen rehabilitation programmes, and enhance access to support services for vulnerable children across the state.
Observers say the initiative further reflects Amb. Dr. Sameera Abubakar Abdullahi’s continued commitment to humanitarian service, women empowerment, and child welfare through community-driven interventions.
Better Life for Women and Children Future Foundation has continued to implement various humanitarian and empowerment projects focused on vulnerable women, children, and underserved communities in Kano State and other parts of Nigeria.
