Meet Dr. Sameera Abubakar Abdullahi

Kano entrepreneur and humanitarian gains recognition for women and youth empowerment initiatives

Dr. Sameera Abubakar Abdullahi is emerging as one of the growing female voices in leadership, entrepreneurship, and humanitarian development in Northern Nigeria. She continues to gain attention through her work in women empowerment, youth advocacy, and education support programmes.

Born in Kano State, Dr. Sameera has built a strong reputation in humanitarian service and grassroots development. She focuses mainly on supporting women, children, and the girl-child. As a result, her advocacy work has attracted recognition from professional and business organizations across Nigeria.

She studied Educational Administration and earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Wisconsin International University College in Ghana. Furthermore, her educational background continues to shape her leadership and community development activities.

To expand her humanitarian vision, Dr. Sameera founded the Better Life for Women and Children Future Foundation (BLWCFF) and the Better Life for Women Network (BLFWN). Both organizations focus on empowering vulnerable women and children through advocacy, education support, and social intervention programmes.

Over the years, her foundation has carried out several projects in underserved communities. In addition, the organization collaborates with government agencies, development partners, and non-governmental organizations across Nigeria. The initiatives include girl-child education campaigns, youth advocacy programmes, and women empowerment activities.

Beyond humanitarian work, Dr. Sameera is also active in business and entrepreneurship. She serves as the Chief Executive Officer of MHS Universal Investment Limited. She also founded Samaan Oil and Gas.

Her involvement in agro-business and enterprise development has earned her leadership positions in several business and professional networks. Consequently, she remains active in programmes that encourage entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Dr. Sameera currently holds positions in entrepreneurial and women-focused associations, including engagements linked to the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA). In 2025, the organization appointed her as the National Coordinator of the NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs Board.

Supporters and associates describe her as a development-driven leader. They say she remains committed to improving the lives of women, children, and young people through education, entrepreneurship, and inclusive opportunities.
