The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed three properties belonging to Paradise Estate Limited in Abuja over failure to deliver houses fully paid for by customers, following multiple complaints.
The enforcement was carried out on Thursday by FCCPC officials led by the Deputy Director of Surveillance and Investigation, Mavin Nadah, who said the action followed the company’s refusal to comply with regulatory directives.
Nadah explained that the commission had received numerous complaints from consumers in the real estate sector, with several linked to Paradise Estate Limited.
He noted that the complaints were thoroughly reviewed, leading to the issuance of a compliance notice directing the company to hand over the properties to buyers who had paid for over three years without receiving them.
According to him, the notice was served on February 24, 2026, giving the company seven days to comply, but it failed to do so.
“Failure to comply with the directives is why we are here today to carry out enforcement by sealing the properties,” Nadah said.
He added that the action was backed by the provisions of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018, stressing that the commission remains committed to protecting consumers from exploitation and unfair practices.
Reacting to the development, the Head of Legal at Paradise Homes, Aloysius Ezenwa, maintained that the transactions were governed by existing contracts of sale and expressed dissatisfaction with the commission’s action.
The sealing of the properties underscores ongoing regulatory efforts to hold real estate firms accountable and protect consumers from unfulfilled housing agreements.
