A former member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Abba Anas Adamu, has reportedly died while in captivity after being kidnapped by armed bandits along the dangerous Kaduna-Abuja highway.
The late politician was abducted during a journey on the busy road, which has repeatedly witnessed cases of kidnapping and attacks by criminal groups.
Reports indicate that despite efforts to secure his freedom, he sadly lost his life before regaining freedom from his captors.
The incident has once again raised concerns among Nigerians over the worsening insecurity along major highways, especially the Kaduna-Abuja route, where travelers continue to face threats from kidnappers and other armed gangs.
Leaders and residents have continued to call on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect commuters and prevent further tragedies.
