Governor Ododo Meets SDP Candidate Ajaka After Return To APC

The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Tuesday received Muritala Yakubu Ajaka at the Government House in Lokoja during a courtesy visit following Ajaka’s return to the All Progressives Congress.

Ajaka, who contested the 2023 governorship election under the platform of the Social Democratic Party, recently rejoined the APC in what political observers described as a major step toward unity and consolidation within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The meeting between Governor Ododo and Ajaka focused on reconciliation, unity, and strengthening the APC in Kogi State.

Governor Ododo appreciated Ajaka for what he described as a mature and peaceful disposition, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to uniting the people of the state regardless of political differences.

The governor stressed that building a greater Kogi State requires collective effort that goes beyond political interests and election contests.

According to a statement issued by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the meeting reflected ongoing efforts by the state government to promote peace, stability, and inclusive development across Kogi State.

The statement was released on May 13, 2026.
