A suspected cult-related attack in Benin City has claimed the life of an undergraduate student of the University of Benin identified simply as Alexander, while three other persons, including a female student, sustained injuries.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday when gunmen believed to be cultists opened fire on the victims in Benin City.
The deceased was confirmed dead at the scene, while the injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack, as investigations into the incident continue.
