Breaking News: President Tinubu Presses On with Qatar Journey for Business and Investments Forum (BIF) Despite Rejection

Undeterred by the setback, President Tinubu remains resolute in his decision to embark on a journey to Qatar to attend the Business and Investments Forum (BIF)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has embarked on a journey to Qatar to attend a business forum, following his participation in the commissioning of the Red Line rail mass transit project in Lagos by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials during the two-day official visit to Qatar. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between Nigeria and Qatar in various areas such as security, cultural exchange, and economic development.

During his visit, President Tinubu is expected to witness the signing of several agreements focused on boosting Nigeria’s real sector and creating value-additive investments across various fields including trade, education, culture, solid minerals, digital economy, agriculture, and gas. Additionally, cooperation on counter-terrorism will be discussed.

President Tinubu will also participate in a business and investment forum aimed at advancing cross-sectoral opportunities for mutually beneficial growth and development between Nigeria and Qatar.

In his address during the commissioning of the Lagos Red Line Rail project, President Tinubu shared insights into his vision for Lagos, emphasizing the transformative potential of the project in positioning Lagos as an economic powerhouse in Africa and a respected global mega city.

He commended the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) for its commitment and well-guided initiatives, highlighting the success of the digital payment platform aimed at integrating various transportation services.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also reiterated the significance of the Red Line rail project in enhancing transit and reshaping the urban landscape of Lagos, emphasizing its role in fostering a more connected and efficient city.

Among the dignitaries present at the commissioning ceremony were Governors Usman Ododo (Kogi), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), former Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and other notable personalities.
