Alex Barbir Under Scrutiny Over Bag Logos

Controversy has continued to trail an American citizen, Alex Barbir, following claims circulating on social media about his activities in Plateau State, Nigeria.

According to the reports, Barbir has been accused by some commentators of spreading narratives capable of fueling religious tension between Muslims and Christians in the state.

The claims also allege that Barbir may have links with Blackwater, a private military contracting organization known for providing security and training services in different conflict zones around the world. However, these allegations have not been officially confirmed.

Attention has also been drawn to a bag reportedly carried by Barbir during a recent incident in Rukuba area of Jos, where several logos were seen attached to the bag.

Observers highlighted four symbols visible on the bag, which include:

  1. The United States flag, representing his country of origin.
  2. A Blackwater logo, associated with the American private military contractor.
  3. A symbol described as “American Crusader,” which some claim is linked to extremist groups in the United States.
  4. The “Gadsden” symbol, historically associated with certain American militia and political movements.

Those raising concerns say the presence of these symbols has intensified questions about Barbir’s activities and intentions in Nigeria.

They have called on the Federal Government and security agencies to investigate the matter and take necessary steps to ensure that peace and stability are maintained in the country.

As of the time of filing this report, Nigerian authorities have not issued any official statement confirming the allegations.
