Bauchi State Government to ensure restriction in all religious gatherings with the participation of not more than fifty people as part of precautionary measures to protect the people of the state from the rampaging Coronavirus and other diseases.
Governor Bala Mohammed made this known while answering questions from Government House Correspondents on the just concluded outcome of the Stakeholders Engagement and Update Meeting held at the Council Chamber, Government House Bauchi.
The governor said the state government is doing everything possible to protect the citizens against infectious diseases.
According to him, the engagement of community and religious bodies leaders and other critical stakeholders is to achieve the set objectives.
” What we agreed in our meeting, first I welcome them to Government House Bauchi, their own house for this very important interactive session, they are the leaders representing their people.
” We have discussed extensively on issues that relate to people which decisions have been made at the National level, but because of the way and manner we established stakeholding in the state, we cannot take any final decisions without their involvement.
” We have briefed them on the current economic situation that is affecting not only the state, but the country in general, I request people to deepening prayers as preventive ways of averting the outbreak of the Coronavirus in our state.
Governor Bala Mohammed announced the closure of all schools across the state in order to prevent students against the spread of the diseases.
” We have constituted a high powered committee under the chairmanship of the State Deputy Governor on health matters to provide the necessary sensitization on Coronavirus and Lassa fever.
