Bauchi State Clocks Final Hajj Airlift as Leaders Urge Pilgrims to Pray for Peace and Progress
As the final batch of 560 pilgrims departs Bauchi for Madinah, spiritual calls for peace, development, and leadership uplift dominate the air.

In a spiritually charged atmosphere at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, the final batch of 560 intending pilgrims was successfully airlifted to Madinah, marking the last flight of this year’s Hajj operation from the state.
Addressing the faithful shortly before departure, the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, called on the pilgrims to fervently pray for the continued peace, prosperity, and development of Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.
He emphasized the importance of safeguarding their Hajj identification tags, warning that without them, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would not permit participation in the holy rites.
Imam Abdurrahman expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, for his consistent support and commitment to the success of the Hajj operations. He also acknowledged the vital roles played by religious and traditional institutions as well as the media in providing awareness and visibility for the program.
In separate remarks, the State Amirul Hajj, the Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi, and Alhaji Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, noted that the seamless execution of the last flight was a testament to the governor’s vision and the board’s meticulous coordination. They urged pilgrims to uphold patience, godliness, and avoid vulgarities throughout the sacred journey.
Adding a gendered perspective, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko, Commissioner for Women and Child Development, lauded the Board’s commitment and praised Imam Abdurrahman for working tirelessly around the clock to ensure a smooth operation.
Meanwhile, some elated intending pilgrims at the airport commended the state government’s effort and described the coordination as “the most efficient in years.”
As the final flight takes to the skies, the unified message from Bauchi is clear — may the journey be blessed, and may prayers from the Holy Land return with peace, unity, and advancement for the state and its leadership.
