Gov. Yusuf Launches Distribution of 54,600 Bags of Rice for Ramadan

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially launched the distribution of 54,600 bags of rice to ease the hardship faced by residents of Kano State during the Ramadan season.

The flag-off ceremony took place on Saturday at Maganda Road in Kano, signaling the start of the state’s annual Ramadan support program.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor described the initiative as a yearly tradition designed to assist the less privileged during the holy month.

He explained that the intervention would cover all 44 local government areas of the state, as well as other selected beneficiaries. A total of 91 trucks of rice equivalent to 54,600 bags of 50kg each are set to be distributed.

Of these, 44 trucks will be directly allocated to each local government area, while the remaining 47 trucks will reach selected groups and individuals to support them during the fasting period.

To ensure transparency and accountability, Governor Yusuf announced the formation of committees at both state and local government levels to oversee the procurement, distribution, and delivery of the rice.
