Governor Namadi Deepens Partnership with Qatar Charity

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, on Tuesday paid a visit to the Abuja office of Qatar Charity, where he was received by the organisation’s Country Director, Shaikh Assem Abu Al-Shaer. The visit was aimed at strengthening an existing partnership that has positively impacted communities across the state over the past two years.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Governor Namadi highlighted the achievements recorded through the collaboration. He noted that several communities have benefited from key interventions, including the construction of houses, mosques, and Islamic schools, as well as the provision of boreholes, solar-powered water systems, and empowerment tools such as tricycles, motorcycles, and grinding machines.
The governor commended Qatar Charity for its contribution to rural development in Jigawa, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to proper management and sustainability of the projects delivered under the partnership.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Jigawa State, I sincerely appreciate this unwavering support,” he stated. “I assured them that all projects executed in our communities will be properly utilised, maintained, and sustained to ensure long-term benefits.”
The partnership between the Jigawa State Government and Qatari humanitarian organisations forms part of broader efforts to tackle poverty and bridge infrastructure gaps in Northern Nigeria. The interventions are designed to support vulnerable groups, particularly widows, orphans, unemployed youth, and victims of recurring floods in the state.
By providing permanent and modern housing structures alongside empowerment initiatives, the collaboration aims to promote self-reliance and reduce dependence on aid. The initiative aligns with Governor Namadi’s 12-point development agenda, which places strong emphasis on social protection and human capital development.
