IGP Deploys DIG, 17 Commissioners of Police to Strategic Commands

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of a Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to key departments, commands, and formations across the country.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, and shared via the Nigeria Police Force’s official X handle, the deployments are aimed at strengthening operational capacity, improving leadership effectiveness, enhancing public safety, and boosting service delivery nationwide.
Under the new postings, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Usaini Gumel has been appointed to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID).
Three Commissioners of Police were assigned to state commands, with CP Aina Adesola posted to Delta State, CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia to Kebbi State, and CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor to Bayelsa State.
Other deployments include CP Osagie John Agans-Irabor to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos; CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola to the Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja; and CP Adepegba K. Adetoye to the Marine Unit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Also redeployed are CP Tabitha Bako as Deputy Commandant of the Police College, Kaduna; CP Umar Ali Fagge as Deputy Commandant of the Police College, Ikeja; and CP Audu Garba Bosso to General Investigation at the FCID Annex in Kaduna.
Further postings include CP Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha to Community Policing at the Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Arikpo Ofem Ikpi to the Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters; and CP Cyril Uchenna Obiozo to the Maritime Command in Lagos.
Others are CP Samuel Yerima as Coordinator of Courses at the Police Staff College, Jos; CP Alhaji Mohammed Danlandi to the X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Richard Bala Gara to the Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters; CP Lasisi A. Titilola to the Railway Command in Lagos; and CP Obuagbaka C. John to the Safer Highway Unit, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Inspector-General of Police urged the newly deployed officers to draw on their experience to provide effective and result-driven leadership, uphold professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards, and ensure strict adherence to the rule of law in the discharge of their responsibilities.
