Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has pledged to expand the capacity of the NNPP Kwankwasiyya Media Forum in recognition of their unwavering dedication to promoting the government’s policies and programs to the public.
The Governor made this promise during an empowerment program organized by the forum at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the critical role of the forum in bridging the gap between the government and the people, ensuring that citizens are well-informed about the administration’s developmental initiatives.
He noted that even small gestures of support can bring significant joy and motivation to the recipients.
Describing the event as historic, the Governor remarked that it coincided with his 62nd birthday and marked his first official engagement of 2025.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf announced a substantial contribution of N30 million to the forum to enhance their enlightenment and advocacy efforts.
The Governor also commended the forum for its professional approach in engaging with opposition parties, urging them to maintain objectivity and politeness in political discourse.
He expressed confidence that their respectful engagements would eventually win over even the fiercest critics of the NNPP.
Governor Yusuf lauded the leadership of the forum, including Chairman Alhaji Nagoda, Murtala Zawai, Nura Bakwankwashe, and Ali Gyara Hausawa, for their commitment to supporting media vanguards and fostering greater public understanding of government projects in Kano.
He assured them of further collaboration and promised to meet with the forum’s executive members to explore additional opportunities for engaging their members in future government empowerment programs.
Earlier, Chairman Alhaji Nagoda revealed that the forum had raised N11 million from friends of the NNPP, commissioners, and aides to support the empowerment initiative for media vanguards.
