Newly posted Bauchi NSCDC commandant visits governor Bala Mohammed
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Bauchi welcomes partnership with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in tackling criminal activities in the state.
The governor was speaking when he received in audience, the newly posted state Commandant of the corps, Mrs Susane Yavala who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Bauchi.
Governor Bala Mohammed said despite limited resources in the state, his administration will assist security agencies with tools required for operations so as to ensure the maintenance of peace and security.
The governor recalled the outstanding performance and contributions of the Corps in tackling criminal activities in waterways in the Federal Capital Territory when he was the Minister, called for same in the state.
” On behalf of the Government and People of Bauchi state, I welcome you to Bauchi state to do your major statutory duty, I know the corps when I was in the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs when it was a voluntary organisation.
” I can recall some of the support I rendered NSCDC especially towards the actualisation of your barrack in the FCT, and that has assisted in reducing criminal activities in the territory, your professionalism operations
is appreciative.
The governor regretted that, Bauchi being the home of peace in the North East, is currently being faced with some criminal activities ranging from Kidnapping and armed robbery among other criminality. The Governor enjoined the corps to join hands in tackling the menace.
” I secured Abuja through your support and that of police and other security agencies, and I am therefore ready to do it in Bauchi to ensure our state is secured against all forms of terrorism and criminality.
“We appreciate the partnership between us and on our part as government, we will do everything possible to provide you with the necessary support for better performance. May your stay in Bauchi be for the benefit of the people and government of the state. “
Earlier, the newly posted state Commandant of the corps, Mrs Susane Yavala had assured to compliment the efforts of the state government in reducing criminal activities across the state.
She appealed to the governor not to relent in assisting the Corps with the required facilities in order to ensure effective service delivery.
” Your Excellency, I promise you that I will do my best to ensure that our personnel are deployed across the state to maintain peace and security. “
