Nigeria Military Kills Terrorists, Rescues Kidnap Victims Nationwide

The Nigerian military has recorded major operational successes across different parts of the country, including the elimination of terrorists, rescue of kidnapped victims and arrest of several criminal suspects.

Operational reports released to the News Agency of Nigeria showed that troops achieved several gains within the last 24 hours in various theatres of operation.

In Plateau State, troops under Operation Enduring Peace neutralised three terrorists during an ambush operation in Wase Local Government Area. They also foiled an attack on civilians in Shendam, where injured victims were quickly evacuated for treatment.

In Borno State, troops of Operation Hadin Kai successfully prevented an attempted improvised explosive device (IED) attack along the Konduga–Kawuri road. During the operation, two terrorists were neutralised and several weapons were recovered.

The report also revealed that troops arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin in Toungo, Adamawa State, who is believed to be involved in kidnappings and attacks on security personnel. Additionally, three logistics suppliers and another suspected kidnapper were apprehended in Borno.

Under Operation Fansan Yamma, troops rescued 10 kidnapped victims in separate operations carried out in Sokoto and Katsina States. Five suspected cattle rustlers were also arrested in Kebbi State, while stolen livestock were recovered.

In the South-East, security forces recovered and safely detonated four improvised explosive devices in Abia State. Suspected cultists and gunrunners were also arrested in Cross River and Ebonyi States.

Meanwhile, in the Niger Delta region, troops intercepted vandalised materials and a vehicle transporting about 900 litres of illegally refined petroleum products in Rivers State.

The report further disclosed that security agencies intervened in a communal clash between Afo natives and Fulani herders in Nasarawa State, preventing the conflict from escalating.

Military authorities said operations are continuing across the country as troops intensify efforts to sustain pressure on terrorists and other criminal groups.
