NYSC Sustains National Unity Mission For Fifty-Three Years

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has stated that the scheme has continued to achieve its objective of promoting national unity and integration across Nigeria for the past 53 years.

He made the statement on Wednesday while speaking at the News Agency of Nigeria Forum held in Abuja.

According to him, the NYSC programme has played a major role in bringing young Nigerians from different ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds together, thereby strengthening peaceful coexistence and national development.

Nafiu also praised the contributions of corps members in various sectors of the country, noting that the scheme remains an important part of Nigeria’s unity and growth.
