Sheikh Abdur Rahman As-Sudais, the President of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, will serve as the Khateeb for the Jumu’ah (Friday) prayer at the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahad bin Abdulaziz Mosque in Riyadh on Friday, 18 Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 6, 2026.

The announcement has drawn wide attention from worshippers and Islamic scholars, given Sheikh As-Sudais’ prominent standing in the Muslim world. He is globally renowned for his leadership at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and for his influential sermons, which often focus on unity, piety, compassion, and adherence to Islamic values.

The King Fahad bin Abdulaziz Mosque, one of the major mosques in the Saudi capital, is expected to host a large congregation for the Jumu’ah prayer, as worshippers gather to listen to the sermon delivered by the respected scholar.

Religious observers note that Sheikh As-Sudais’ appearance in Riyadh for the Friday sermon reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen religious guidance and engagement across the Kingdom, especially during the spiritually significant period of Sha’ban, which precedes the holy month of Ramadan.

Authorities have advised worshippers to arrive early to accommodate the expected turnout and to ensure an orderly and smooth conduct of the prayer.
