Wase Stakeholders Reject Zoning Call, Back Ahmed Idris Wase Leadership

Wase stakeholders, led by Adamu Adamu, reject zoning call, insist leadership must be based on voters’ choice and performance.

A group under the platform of Concerned Stakeholders for Democratic Integrity in Wase Federal Constituency has rejected recent calls for zoning, describing the move as misleading and not representative of the people’s collective will.

The position was made in a press release signed by Adamu Adamu on behalf of the group, in response to an earlier statement by a group identified as “Concerned Patriots,” reportedly led by Dalhatu Babudi.

According to the statement, the demand for zoning is being promoted by a small group of individuals whose interests do not align with those of the wider Wase constituency. It further questioned the credibility of the group, noting that some of its members are recent political defectors with unclear ideological direction.

The stakeholders emphasized that democracy is based on the free choice of voters and not on imposed arrangements such as zoning. They also argued that the proponents failed to demonstrate any form of injustice that would justify such a demand.

Defending the continued leadership of Ahmed Idris Wase, the group highlighted his achievements in infrastructure development, education support, healthcare interventions, youth and women empowerment, as well as agricultural initiatives.

They stated that his consistent re-election is a clear reflection of public trust and satisfaction with his performance across all districts of the constituency.

The statement concluded by urging residents to disregard divisive narratives and uphold democratic values, stressing that leadership should be determined through elections based on merit, credibility, and the will of the people.
