RE: IMPENDING ATTACK. MILITARY DEPLOYED TROOPS TO PLATEAU STATE.

Before I start proper, I must have to register my immense gratitude to the Elders, Youths and entire good and peace loving people of Wase Local Government Council, especially the renowned leadership of the Association of Wase Youths (A.K.A. WATYA), under the capacitated watch of Comrd. Badamasi Dan’asabe, who went all the way to have dug out and collected an official response from Wase LGA Security Apparatus situated in city of Wase (comprising of FOB, DSS, NFA, SIB, NSCDC etc) on account of the Press Statement accredited to Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma (Langtang North LGA incumbent Executive Chairman) who claimed on the media that suspected influx of terrorists groups are identified in recent hours around the axis of Kadarko District in Wase LGA, Plateau State. Therefore, I must tell you that, I am highly happy and highly delighted after going through all of the heated discussions so far made on that regard. This to me, is a clear indication that we are fast moving toward success as security issues as well as the integrity of our motherland (I.e Wase LGA) is being considered as everybody’s business in our dear beloved community.

In the light of the foregoing, it is a fact that in the most recent years, the rising intensity of security challenges in Plateau State necessitates the quest for an effective and efficient security avalanche across the board irrespective of any of the perceived differences. The parochial approach and ideal expression that remains unavoidably true is that, there is need for our LGAs, Zones, States, and the country to reflects on the findings of the analytical discourses that will aid in reforming the pattern of security practices that is going to be on evidence-based decisions amongst government officials, private and corporate organizations, in order to salvage ourselves from a perilous situation that state unrest, chaos, crisis, conflict, and turmoil comes with, which endangers the lives of the masses. And this, will help us to reduce the level of under-development, backwardness, unproductiveness and lack of unity amongst the citizens, as the beauty of peace and unity can never be overemphasized.

It is widely known that, Nigeria as a whole, nowadays continue to grapple with rising issues of insecurity, most especially the ones that ranges on Boko Haram, Kidnapping, Ethno-religious and political conflicts, and banditry insurgencies. As part of the urgency to seek an end to the two-decades-long rising insecurity challenges in the State, with specific attention on the recent incitive Press Statement made by Hon. Mr. Joshua Laven Ubandoma of Langtang North LGA, on lived Television News that he was in receipt of firsthand intelligence (which by indication, could not share same with his counterpart at the helm of affairs in Wase LGC), of the suspected movement of would be terrorists group along the axis of Wase, Langtang North and South borderlines, there is the utmost for the affected stakeholders to swiftly call for critical emergency security meetings in order to study the statement itself, make further inquiries, give a cursory overview of the security agencies present and analyse the everyday events in the process of handling such security issues among their fellow agencies and the citizens with a comparative view in accordance with the contemporary best practices, instead of rather, allow the citizens from two contending sides of either of the LGAs to continue pointing an accusing fingers to one another, which by extension is most likely to transcend into something uncalled for, most especially, if the elders refuses to do the needful right on time. Looking at the fragile nature of the state at the moment, we are not praying for anything evil to befall us, hence, leaders must hit the nail at the head as quickly as possible, to help other state security machineries put in place to repel the current challenges, aimed at silencing the ongoing wailings across the nooks and crannies whence.

The intellectual analysis of the discourse of this nature, have so far evidently shows that there is a clear system of conflicting intelligence, lack of synergy and likelihood of institutional rivalry between the security agencies of both Wase LGA and their counterparts of Langtang North LGA respectively. The security apparatuses thereof, have shown an act of incapability, negligence and sheer act of incapacitation to safeguard, protect, secure and maintain law and order around our axis but instead only to help lit, fan, exacerbate and increase the level of tensions amongst our people that so far enjoy peace across the entire zone which is not healthy for the system, because if not so, why would there be a disparity between the Communication Intelligence (COMINT) and Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) or both as reported by Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma, who claimed to have been fed with by the Security personnel under his watch and that of Wase LGA as indicated by Wase Township Youths (WATYA) in their piece of response therefrom. Therefore, the fact that there is a pragmatic failure in most of our institutional security agencies cannot be overhaul and it is responsible for the problems we are currently battling with as either individuals, groups, local community or state as a whole, as they continue giving us an impression that they cannot be able to effectively manage conflicts, in spite of the fact that, both their institutional design and implementation of security architecture is filled with faulty dispositions of various sorts that seek to always undermine the existing fabric of peace that seems to have come to stay. No matter how the tend to deject, reject, eject, remove, deny or hide behind the truth, peace and tranquillity will prevails insha Allah.

Finally, I recommend a system of bipolar horizontal response between the two Executives, as the matter is official with a lot of spaces for consultation, discretion and elaborate discussion on the possible way out to address the impending problem at hand and see to the avenue that will guarantee the prevention of same mistake or deliberate act from future occurrence as both citizens of the two LGAs would not like to be retracted back to the previous gory condition placed over them by the past crisis that cost us an unknown lives and properties amounting to billions of Naira. The Executive Chairman of Wase LGA (who is now the authority as at present) should seek for an expert support and harmonize efforts to put an end to this, through all of the available processes possible because, issues surrounding crime, terrorism, kidnapping is reverberating across individual, group, community, zonal, state, national, regional and international level with the constant call for attention to be swing toward addressing human security complications that has to do with individualism, base on the notion of Liberal-Critical human security propagators across the globe. Only by these, would peace be allowed to reign. Thank you!!!
