Minister Commits to Restoring APC’s Strength in FCT

The minister of state for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mariya Mahmoud, has expressed the commitment to rebuild the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the nation’s capital. She called on stakeholders to close ranks and work together for the success of the party.

During a strategic meeting with APC leaders and supporters, the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory Administration, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, expressed her determination to revive the All Progressives Congress (APC) presence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Dr. Mahmoud emphasized the need for dedication and unity among party members, acknowledging the challenges faced by the APC in past elections in the FCT. She assured attendees that the party would overcome these hurdles in future elections.

Highlighting the importance of honesty and transparent communication, the Minister stressed the necessity of open dialogue within the party. She urged members to communicate effectively and work together towards the common goal of advancing the party’s interests.

Drawing inspiration from the success stories in Kano State, Dr. Mahmoud pledged to leverage her political experience to replicate similar achievements in the FCT. She underscored the potential for progress, citing the manageable size of the FCT compared to other states.

Addressing concerns about the party’s status in the FCT, the Minister assured members of President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering support and commitment to the region. She expressed gratitude to party members for their patience and resilience in the face of challenges.

In response, the Chairman of APC in the FCT, Hon. Abdulmalik Usman, echoed Dr. Mahmoud’s sentiments, acknowledging the party’s decline in recent elections. He attributed this decline to the lack of patronage and reward system for party members.

However, Usman expressed optimism about the Minister’s leadership, highlighting her inclusive approach to party planning and decision-making. He assured her of members’ loyalty and commitment to the party’s objectives.

The engagement meeting, organized by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Administration and Strategy, Dr. Abdullahi Isah Kauramata, emphasized the importance of regular gatherings among party stakeholders to foster collaboration and strategize for future success.
