NDC Fixes N60m Fee For 2027 Presidential Aspirants

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that aspirants seeking to contest for the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections will be required to pay a total of N60 million for nomination and expression of interest forms.
The decision was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s National Chairman, Sen. Moses Cleopas, and the National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu.
According to the party leadership, the amount forms part of measures aimed at organising a transparent and credible primary election process ahead of the next presidential race.
The statement further explained that the party has also released its official timetable and guidelines for the 2027 primaries, outlining activities leading to the emergence of candidates for various elective positions.
Party officials noted that the move signals the beginning of political preparations as parties continue to strategise ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The NDC leadership urged interested aspirants and party members to comply with the laid-down procedures and timelines, stressing that the primaries would be conducted in a fair and democratic manner.
The announcement has already generated reactions among political observers, especially regarding the high cost attached to the presidential nomination forms.
