Bandits Kill One, Kidnap Seven in Early Morning Attack on Kaduna Community

Suspected bandits have attacked a community in Kaduna State, killing one resident and abducting seven others during an early morning raid.
The attack took place in Sabon Gyero, a settlement located within Millennium City in Chikun Local Government Area.
Residents said the gunmen stormed the area in large numbers in the early hours of Monday while most people were asleep.
According to sources in the community, the attackers broke into a house and abducted three women and four children before escaping into nearby bushes.
During the attack, the gunmen also invaded a phone charging centre where they shot and killed a young man identified as Abdullahi Lawal, popularly known in the area as “Kurma”.
Residents said Lawal, who was deaf and non verbal, sustained a gunshot wound to the head during the attack. He was rushed to a hospital but died before arriving at the facility.
The attackers were also reported to have stolen several mobile phones and laptops from the charging centre before fleeing the scene.
Reacting to the incident, the Commandant of the Joint Task Force in the area, Uwaisu Yunusa, said security operatives moved to the scene after hearing gunshots but the attackers had already escaped.
Authorities have yet to provide further details about the incident as security agencies continue efforts to track down the assailants.
