Nahcon Commiserates With Gov Idris On Speaker’s Death, Sympathizes With Pilgrims’ Chair On Fire Incident

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has received condolences from a high-powered delegation of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, as well as the Forum of Chairmen and Executive Secretaries of State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, who visited him in Birnin Kebbi, this Saturday.
Led by the NAHCON Director of Administration and Human Resources, Aliyu Shutti, who represented the Chairman, Ambassador Ismaila Abba Yusuf, the delegation expressed deep sympathy on the demise of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru.
Speaking during the visit at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Shutti said the entire Hajj family in Nigeria shared in the grief of the government and people of Kebbi State, praying The ALMIGHTY ALLAH to grant him Al-Jannah FIRDAUSI, give the family and the state the fortitude to bear the loss.
The delegation also sympathized with the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, KPWA, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro, on the recent fire outbreak that affected part of his residence.
Shutti further used the opportunity to commend Governor Idris for his unwavering commitment and support to Hajj operations in the state, describing Kebbi as one of the most organized and responsive states in Hajj management throughout the country.
He acknowledged that Kebbi State was among the first five states fully prepared for the 2026 Hajj exercise, attributing the feat to the Governor’s leadership and the competence of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
Responding, Governor Idris expressed appreciation to the NAHCON leadership and members of the forum for the show of concern and solidarity, describing the visit as a source of comfort to the government and people of Kebbi State.
The Governor paid glowing tribute to the late Speaker, whom he described as a humble, tolerant, and grassroots politician dedicated to the service of humanity, saying that his death is a great loss to the state.
He reaffirmed confidence in the leadership of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency under Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro, emphasising that his appointment was based on proven experience and competence.
Governor Idris also acknowledged the challenges associated with Hajj administration at the national level and prayed for the success of the current NAHCON leadership under Ambassador Ismaila Abba Yusuf, urging the Commission to remain focused and committed to improving Hajj operations in Nigeria.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a Certificate of Commiseration by the NAHCON delegation, under the leadership of Ambassador Ismaila Abba Yusuf, to the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro Enabo, in sympathy on the recent fire incident.
