Plateau Government Imposes 48-Hour Curfew in Jos

Jos, Plateau State – In response to a tragic security incident in Gari Ya Waye community, Angwan Rukuba, which occurred on Sunday, 29th March 2026, the Plateau State Government has announced a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area. The curfew, effective from 12 midnight on 29th March until 1st April 2026, comes after the attack claimed lives and left several others injured.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang condemned the unprovoked attack on innocent citizens, describing it as barbaric. He assured residents that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The government, in collaboration with security agencies, has urged citizens to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate by providing any information that could aid ongoing investigations.

The announcement was signed by Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni, Honorable Commissioner for Information and Communication.
