The Commandant General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Ibrahim Daurawa, has reconciled with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and is set to resume his position.
Despite a public resignation via social media, Daurawa has not formally submitted a written resignation. Following a meeting with the governor and respected figures, Daurawa will resume office on Tuesday.
The Kano State Government made efforts to persuade Daurawa to return, including sending respected Islamic clerics and government officials to meet with him.
Governor Yusuf had criticized the board’s operation, leading to Daurawa’s initial resignation, which caused public backlash. Monday’s meeting aimed to address the issue and facilitate Daurawa’s return to his position
