Tinubu Appoints Bianca Ojukwu as Foreign Affairs Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs following the resignation of Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to contest in the 2027 elections.
Before her appointment, Bianca Ojukwu served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President also nominated Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, pending Senate confirmation.
Until his nomination, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations. He is an experienced diplomat with more than 30 years in Nigeria’s foreign service and has held major diplomatic positions in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, and New Delhi.
According to the Presidency, the appointments are aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s foreign policy and enhancing international partnerships and diplomatic engagement.
President Tinubu congratulated the appointees and urged them to work toward protecting Nigeria’s interests, promoting economic diplomacy, and improving the welfare of Nigerians both within and outside the country.
