APC Screening Committe Speaks On Aspirants court cases

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee for aspirants contesting for seats in the Yobe State House of Assembly, Babakura Kaka, has disclosed that ongoing legal disputes involving some aspirants would play a major role in determining their eligibility for the 2027 general election

Kaka explained that the committee would carefully examine the nature and seriousness of every court case connected to aspirants before deciding whether they would be cleared to participate in the party’s primary elections. According to him, the screening process is designed to ensure that only qualified and credible individuals are allowed to contest under the APC platform.

He stated that aspirants facing minor legal issues may still have a chance of being cleared, while those involved in cases capable of damaging the image of the party or violating constitutional requirements could be disqualified. He added that the committee remains committed to fairness, transparency, and adherence to the party’s guidelines throughout the exercise.

The APC chieftain further urged aspirants to cooperate fully with the screening panel by providing accurate documents and relevant information required for verification. He emphasized that the committee’s responsibility is to protect the integrity of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Kaka also reassured party members that no aspirant would be unfairly treated, stressing that decisions would be based strictly on facts, legal records, and party regulations.
