Bauchi State has recorded second case of confirmed positive coronovirus disease.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Aliyu Maigoro announced this while briefing journalists in Bauchi.
Dr Aliyu Maigoro said out of the 48 samples of high risk contacts taken, 37 are negative while 9 result are still pending.
” As at this time, we have taken 48 samples of high risk contacts to Abuja out of result, 37 are negative while we are still waiting for the result of 9 samples.
“For the first case, he is currently in isolation receiving medical treatment.”
The Health Commissioner noted that the second confirmed case he is also in isolation receiving medical treatment and reaffirmed the readiness of the state government towards curbing the spread of the virus in the state.
Dr Aliyu Maigoro therefore appealed to corporate and other Non Governmental Organizations to assist the state government with the required machines for the treatment of disease.
The Executive Chairman of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed enjoined people of the state to join hands with the state government in its effort to overcome the situation.
