Bauchi speaker commends traditional rulers for strengthening democracy
Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi) has commended traditional institutions in the State for ensuring speedy delivery of dividends of democracy to their subjects.
He was Speaking when he led members of the State Assembly to a ‘thank you visit’ to the Palace of District Head of Udubo in Gamawa Local Government Area Alhaji Aminu Malami for conferment of the traditional title of Yariman Udubo to their colleague Hon. Umar Yakubu (Udubo Constituency), today.
The Speaker who was received by the people of Udubo in fanfare, explained that people have utmost respect to traditional institutions thus they serve as formidable link between the government and the people which strengthen democracy and accelerate development.
Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman thanked the District Head for finding their respected colleague worthy of the very important traditional title
“Hon. Umar Yakubu is a dedicated, generous, humble and dependable colleague whose priority is always development of his constituency. Therefore, we are not surprised when we received the good news of his conferment as Yariman Udubo.
” On behalf of members of Bauchi State House of Assembly, I extend our gratitude and appreciation to you for this honour to our brother. It’s honour to all members of Bauchi State House of Assembly”. He said.
In his response, the District Head of Udubo Alhaji Aminu Malami said he decided to honour the Member with the title after considering his contributions toward the development of the State.
He added that the Member is heir to the throne of Udubo thus the title of Yariman Udubo which was held by his late father suits him and will strengthen the unity of the royal family and Udubo District.
