Dele Momodu Says Tinubu May “Lose Sleep” as Political Alliances Shift

A prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may soon experience growing political pressure as the political landscape continues to shift.
Momodu made the remarks during an appearance on Sunday Politics, a popular political programme aired on Channels Television.
During the interview, Momodu pointed to the recent political movement of former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola, who has reportedly aligned with the ADC despite his long standing political relationship with Tinubu.
According to Momodu, Aregbesola’s decision illustrates how political loyalties in Nigeria can change rapidly.
“Nobody knows Tinubu better than Rauf Aregbesola,” Momodu said, noting that the former minister served as Governor of Osun State for eight years and previously worked closely with Tinubu as Commissioner for Works in Lagos State.
Momodu further claimed that many politicians currently supporting the president may eventually pursue their own political interests if their expectations are not met.
He added that in the coming weeks and months, Tinubu could begin to witness the “true colours” of some of those around him.
The media entrepreneur also hinted at possible political calculations within the ruling All Progressives Congress, particularly regarding future electoral strategies.
Momodu suggested that the party might face internal debates over whether it could risk presenting another Muslim Muslim presidential ticket in future elections.
His comments come amid increasing political realignments in Nigeria, as opposition parties and political figures begin to position themselves ahead of the next election cycle.
