EFCC Nabs 36 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Kaduna Raid
In a decisive move against cybercrime, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reported the arrest of 36 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. This information was officially disclosed on the EFCC Website Media & Publicity.
Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Command carried out the operation on Friday, February 23, 2024, apprehending the suspects in various locations including Sabo Kaduna, Narayi Highcoast, and Layin Dogon Iche Samaru in the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The arrests were made based on credible information pointing to their involvement in internet-related offenses.
The suspects, consisting of 35 males and 1 female, were found in possession of 43 phones and five laptops at the time of their arrest. These items are likely to be scrutinized as part of the ongoing investigation.
The EFCC affirmed that the suspects will face legal proceedings once the investigations are concluded, reinforcing the commitment to combating cybercrime and ensuring that those involved are held accountable for their actions.
