Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase Empowers 500 Constituents with Fertilizer to Boost Food Security

WASE, PLATEAU STATE – In a bold step to strengthen food security and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, CON, Deputy Speaker of the 9th Federal House of Representatives and Member representing Wase Federal Constituency, has empowered 500 constituents with fertilizer support.

The distribution, which took place at his residence in Bashar, provided agricultural inputs to farmers across polling units and individual beneficiaries, ensuring equitable access and widespread reach.

Represented by his Special Assistant, Barrister Musa Adamu Idris, the lawmaker said the initiative was designed to promote bumper harvests, enhance productivity, and ease the burden of high input costs on local farmers.

“This intervention is part of our continuous commitment to empowering Wase farmers. We want to ensure that every bag goes into the farms to increase yields and improve food supply, not into the market for resale,” he cautioned.

The event was attended by dignitaries, party leaders, and community elders, who lauded Rt. Hon. Wase for his consistency in supporting grassroots development. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, describing the initiative as timely and impactful in addressing current agricultural challenges.

The Deputy Speaker also charged the distribution committee to prioritize hard-to-reach areas and ensure transparency in the exercise.

With this effort, Wase joins the growing list of leaders investing in agriculture as a pathway to economic resilience and community empowerment.
