Unknown Gunmen Shoot APC Publicity Secretary To Death In Plateau:
Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Mr. Sylvanus Namang.
Namang was shot dead in Pankshin town, Pankshin Local Government Area of the state.
According to Daily Trust, the deceased left home on Saturday to attend a burial in Pankshin, where he was suddenly killed outside his hotel room in the area by hoodlums who opened fire at him around 7:30 am.
Confirming his death, the state Chairman of the APC, Mr. Rufus Bature, described Namang’s death as a rude shock.An APC official, who did not want his name in print said the late Namang was attacked at a provision store in Pankshin, Pankshin Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.He said Namang, a one-time General Manager with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Lafia FM Station, had traveled to Pankshin for a burial ceremony when he strolled to the shop to pick up a few items.
He stated that the late Namang was a dependable ally and deeply committed to the development of the APC at the grassroots and state levels, adding that the party would issue a statement regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
